MacOS Big Sur
By GeorgeAfter school, you enter your dorm. You get your MacBook Pro out for some homework. When you open it, you see the system is old and hard to access. The browser is old and slow. You might think, “I have to get a new computer! This computer is the worst that I have ever seen!” But don’t blame the computer, it’s the system’s fault. MacOS Big Sur will help you. It has an easy-to-use system, a superb multitasking mode, and attractive APP icon designs. Just think about the simplicity! Just an update, and you’re on the way to productivity. If you are looking for a system that is easy to use, with fabulous multitasking that increases the productivity and quality of your work, and has a refined version of Safari, the anti-tracker browser, MacOS Big Sur is your best fit.
First, MacOS Big Sur is an easy to use system. For instance, the Settings of Apple, System Preferences, is an easy-to-find and simple system settings. According to Apple, MacOS Big Sur has a simple and smooth app interface, “always presenting your operation content in a striking center position” (2020). The system is also very dynamic one, since it is frequently sending out new versions of the system. Just a few weeks ago, the MacOS Big Sur 11.5 came out. “It can quickly access common controls, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, newly added music playback and display dark mode controls” (Apple, 2020). These functions make devices connect faster, and thus makes the Mac and the system itself easier to use. These are all the aspects that make the MacOS Big Sur easy to use.
Along with the easy to use system, Apple developers also developed a fabulous multitasking mode, creating a less distracting atmosphere to work. Unlike some Microsoft, Linux Ubuntu, or other Mac systems, MacOS Big Sur has made the multitasking mode to help you focus by turning off notifications. You can also put two APPs onto one screen, which enhances the speed and quality of your work because you don’t have to switch back and forth between multiple windows. According to Apple, a new design makes the Mac notification center more productive (2020). There is also an important part of the Notification Center called Reminders, which is an Apple APP that reminds you of events, and you can include travel times inside, which remind you by a notification, “Beep! It’s time to go!” One of the best parts of the MacOS Big Sur is there aren't any bugs in the notifications and the multitasking mode. This multitasking mode really increases the productivity and quality of your work; I think that the MacOS Big Sur multitasking mode is terrific.
In addition to the easy to use system and the multitasking mode, the MacOS Big Sur updated its default web browser, Safari, which specializes in blocking the privacy trackers from knowing your personal information. “Apple has also added a bunch of privacy features to Safari with Big Sur. Safari uses ‘Intelligent Tracking Prevention to identify trackers and help prevent them from profiling or following you around the web’” (Bowe). Safari prevents the hackers or website owners from knowing your personal information and other personal privacy items, like passwords for your bank account. Just imagine that your bank account and its password is known by some other person, and he can use it to steal your money! This is when Safari comes to the rescue. According to Apple, Safari gives you a weekly privacy report on your start page to show how many trackers Safari helped you to track down, which prevented the privacy trackers from stealing your personal information (2020). If you want a privacy-tracker-preventing system on a Mac, choose MacOS Big Sur’s refined Safari.
These days, MacOS Big Sur APP icons have a relatively bad reputation. One person said that the APP icons on MacOS Big Sur were terribly ugly, but the truth isn’t this. On the contrary, it is designed terrifically, and it should be credited for this. For example, Pages has a pen and a quotation mark, which is rather artistic, while FaceTime’s icon’s main component is a 3D video camera. These APP icons are modernized versions of the old icons of MacOS Sierra and other older versions. According to Apple, MacOS Big Sur has streamlined APPs, from the sidebars and the updated toolbars (2020). It also has a clean and new APP design. Apple developers also designed a dock which makes access to your favorite APPs easier. A new universal shape of the APPs, which is a curved square, adds consistency to the APP icons, and also lets the personality of the Mac “shine through”. The APP icons are simply great.
To conclude, MacOS Big Sur is an easy-to-use, multitasking system that increases productivity and adds quality to your work. The multitasking mode seldom lets you down because Apple developers are frequently fixing bugs. It also has an updated version of Safari. Safari is a great browser to track down privacy trackers, which in turn helps you increase your privacy. Try the MacOS, and you will not regret it.
